Launching the national E- invoicing system
ISTD launched the Jordanian electronic national invoicing system to begin the stage of joining companies and establishments to the national invoicing program network, during a press conference by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Muhammad Al-Issis, the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Ahmed Al-Hananda, and the Director General of the ISTD, Dr. Hussam Abu Ali. Al-Ississ stressed that the electronic national invoicing system comes at this time to serve the government’s obligations not to impose or increase taxes and to facilitate taxpayers in all their sectors and accelerate their access to tax services, including refunds, achieve voluntary commitment and regulate the relationship between taxpayers in general. Al-Ississ added that the system will constitute a quantum leap in the tax culture in Jordan and make it easier for the private sector in matters of tax transactions and keeping pace with international practices, indicating that ISTD is witnessing a quantum leap that serves what the government has committed to. Al-Ississ indicated that the government is committed not to raising taxes on citizens and changing the culture of tax compliance towards voluntary commitment and fighting tax evasion and tax avoidance to serve the tax-committed citizen and enforce the law. And he indicated that the amendment to the sales tax law for the current year was aimed at accelerating the disbursement of refunds to the private sector and reducing legal periods and deadlines, indicating that he is looking forward to qualitative technological transfers aimed at relieving citizens and accelerating the process of refunds. Al-Ississ indicated that the aim of launching this system is to achieve justice in applying the law and to facilitate the taxpayers, reduce costs for them, and speed up their transaction procedures. He thanked the Minister of Digital Economy for following up and supervising the preparation of this regulation, as integrated solutions were provided for an electronic system in the field of invoicing to provide services for issuing and managing invoices, in addition to collecting and managing data and information related to buying and selling operations. Through this system, the provisions of tax legislation and adherence to the invoicing management system will be implemented. According to the provisions of the system. The Minister of Finance called on all companies, institutions and establishments to quickly join the network of the national invoicing system program, due to the interest of these companies and institutions and the consequent service to the national economy, indicating that the system has many benefits and will achieve advantages for the taxpayers who deal with it. For his part, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmed Al-Hananda explained that this system was implemented by Jordanian experts in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and the Income and Sales Tax Department. He said that the launch of this system at this time is an advanced and necessary step to serve taxpayers, especially those who are tax-compliant, as it contributes to building taxpayers’ files according to the latest practices, and all those who link to this system will see the great benefits that will accrue to them. Al-Hananda stressed that the Ministry of Digital Economy will continue to cooperate with the Income and Sales Tax Department and enable it to carry out its tasks in accordance with the latest international practices to serve and facilitate taxpayers. The Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department explained that the national invoicing system is an integrated computerized system within the best international practices in this field and achieves flexibility by allowing all companies and establishments bound by the invoicing system to join by allowing companies and establishments that do not have an invoicing system or a computerized financial system and at the same time the possibility Joining companies and establishments that have computerized systems without abandoning their systems.
